Introducing the

Glissopipe

Simple. Playful. Yours.

The Glissopipe is an innovative acoustic musical instrument similar to a recorder. It opens up an entirely new world of playing and experiencing music.

Easy to start

The Glissopipe was born from a simple yet bold idea: what if playing a wind instrument could be as natural as singing? Its creators set out to remove the barriers of traditional tone holes.

Intuitive

The Glissopipe is for families, children, music schools, and anyone who wants to discover the joy of making sounds in a simple, intuitive way. It's an instrument that turns music into a fascinating journey of discovery. Be part of this journey with us!

Free the tone

Free yourself

Without predefined fixed tones, it is intuitive, liberating, and deeply inspiring – every tone becomes a discovery, every melody a small adventure. It brings joy to playing, sharpens listening, and trains intonation in a natural way. For some, it opens the door to their very first notes; for others, it unlocks a new dimension of creativity and expression – beyond the limits of conventional scales. Just pick up the Glissopipe, touch the magnetic strip, and let the adventure begin.

Helper strips

Make the first steps easier

The Glissopipe is designed to be played by ear and instinct. But when you are just starting out, a little guidance can help. Helper Strips are optional magnetic overlays that attach directly onto the Glissopipe’s ribbon. They stay securely in place and show the positions of notes using colored rings — which you can both see and feel with your fingers.

Each of the 12 notes of the chromatic scale has its own color. Different musical scales are printed on separate strips, including diatonic, pentatonic, melodic minor (in all 12 keys), full chromatic, and special model scales.

Helper Strips make the first steps easier, especially for beginners, children, and music education — while still allowing the Glissopipe to remain an expressive, voice-like instrument guided by listening rather than rules.

The story

of the Glissopipe

The Glissopipe was created in Hungary by saxophonist, composer, and inventor Dániel Váczi, together with his team. Váczi graduated in biology and studied jazz saxophone, and performs in numerous musical projects ranging from jazz and world music to contemporary classical music.
The Glissopipe is a member of the Glissonic family of musical instruments. The main innovation is that it uses a longitudinal slot on the instrument's tube instead of tone holes. The two sides of the slot are covered with a magnetic foil that attracts a magnetized ribbon on top. The glissonic system can be used on various wind instruments: flute, recorder, clarinet, saxophone, tarogato, oboe, etc., and even the cornet. The first member of the Glissonic family was the Glissotar, which has been successfully on the market since 2024.
